Change #2

The second thing I would change about Online Publishing if I had the power to would be to not assign seats. Kids love freedom Mr. Currin, you have to remember that.

The beginning of this year was awesome, being able to sit wherever we wanted in Online Publishing. The minute I walked into the door, I saw a smiling Michael Steffan and couldn’t help but sit next to the guy. I even ended up two seats away from the Almighty Brian Stoldt. Not too many people will be able to say that they sat two seats away from a future NFL quarterback in high school. Man, it feels good just to type it.

Shoot ahead say, 34 weeks or so into the school year. I walk into Online Publishing and was told immediately we will be having a seat change and they will be permanent. I was somewhat excited to see who I was going to sit next to, but then at the same time I was worried that I was going to hate my new seat. The assigning of seats was quite the big deal as well; we had music going and everything. I was somewhat impressed with the organization and planning given the amount of time they had to set up the entire thing.

My name gets called right after Brianna Harris’s name, so that means she is sitting to my right. “Not too bad,” I said, “...I wonder who will be to my left.” Second pass, but it feels like minutes. The next thing I hear was one of the most memorable moments of my life, and not in a good way. “Tara Hammerschmidt!” In my head I’m filled with anger, but I’m forced to applaud to it.

Tara Hammerschmidt is not the easiest person to sit next to in a class if you aren’t aware. If you want to hear my issues on Tara Hammerschmidt, you can check out my other blog and read the one that I dedicated to her.
